Got Coralline?!

In-A-Gadda-Divita!
Although perfect/constant water parameters and healthy fish, I let the coralline get out of control a bit..... I injured my elbow and had trouble working with my various scraper tools, But yesterday, I took a Vicodin and got to work.:hmm6:

I'm about half done, with the worst yet to come - the bottom 6"!
This tank is 38" deep AND acrylic, if I don't run my Algae Free Tiger Sharks everyday, the coralline gets a good foot hold and I have to break out the deep water gear!

I haven't updated pics on this build in a long time, but will when I finish scraping. This has turned into a big RBTA cube with approximately 8 huge RBTA's . This tank have very high flow with a CL, Snapper return and two MP40WES, I've actually grown to love the flowing nature of all those anemones, it is truly hypnotizing!

Had an security system tech ask me last week what IT was, I jokingly told him it was a saltwater algae grow out experiment for my Masters Degree. He said "that's really cool"....

So, I decided it was time to clean it and try to get an accurate count of the RBTA's. :p

I don't know if anyone else does this, but I have not ran any mechanical filter pads or socks of any kind going on 12 months now and have perfect water with only biological filtration keeping the balance.
Got to love it!

Hey, hope your elbow is doing better Phil!

I've got to see this tank in person some day.
Waiting on MRI results on the elbow, but seems to be a little better, thanks!

Will have to get you over one of these days Roy!

Holy cow, my elbow hurts just looking at all that work!
The anemones look great!
I've thinned out my herd to one rbta and four rainbows.

How difficult is it to get that off of acrylic without scratching the tank?
I use all plastic blades and tools with nylon and or PVC handles. IME, it is more difficult than scraping glass and you do have to be fairly careful. I'm still glad I went with acrylic though.

Thanks Pete!
Do the rainbows get along with the RBTA's okay?

No, gotta get a midget that can scuba dive with a scraper! :frog:

Hey, Phill. You could have let me know. :idea:This midget :smurf:could have put on my scuba gear and scraped the tank for you....and when you were not looking, I would snag one of the anemones. :rolleye1: But wait, that won't work. When I crawl out of the tank, you would have to fill up the displaced water volume...because I am such a fat midget.

Sorry to hear about your elbow. I have some liquid hydrocodone I can share. Liquid hydrocodone mixed with liqueur is good stuff!
