I had Ich problems for a long time and lost a lot of good fish to Ich. I started using FishKeeper Additives and all the fish that had Ich have it no more. I don't know what this stuff does but I know 100% that it worked for me. I keep a bottle around the house just in case.

UPDATE - The powder brown tang didnt make it. He is gone. A buddy of mine with fully HT took the purple tang for me. If the fish lives he will buy it from me. The fish that remain in my tank with ich/velvet (a lot of folks are saying it looks like velvet and ich) are my yellow tang, sailfin tang, blue hippo. All non-tangs are fine.
Heres the good news, the remaining tangs are a tight group that have been with me in my tank for a while. They are still eating well and get along great. I am hopefully that I can keep them alive.
Last night I did the first dose of Cupramine directly in the DT. Saturday night I will do the final dose which should get me to .5. I chose cupramine because supposedly it is removable with water changes and carbon. Even if it takes a while. I've got to keep the inverts and cheato out of the tank for 6 weeks+ anyway since they could be harboring ich and need to run fallow.
Only thing I'm somewhat worried about is my LR. From what Im reading its mixed opinion. Consensus is that the pods/micro fauna will die off but im more worried about the nitrifying bacteria. I dont want a total die off or the ammonia will be out of control.
my only other question is regarding skimmer during cupramine. Sounds like I can still skim.
Make sure you check the copper levels every day. It is very hard to maintain the proper levels with live rock and sand in the tank. In my experience you will probably have to add more copper every day for about the first week until the levels can be easily maintained.

not a big deal. Dont plan on starting another reef for a long time. Just switched to fowlr two weeks ago. Plus this product is specifically desgined to be removed at a later time. not like normal copper
Well my SeaChem copper test kit arrived last night. My tank is only showing as .2 right now. So dosed another 10 ml and will try to get it up to .5 over the next two days. I also dosed my fish in QT last night. Just want to get this over with so I can do a big water change and get my reactors back online.
the fish actually do look better in regards to the ich. The yellow looks the best, the hippo still has have cysts on him. The sailfin at one point was covered in ich/velvet so bad it looks like he was wearing a cotton blanket or something. But now he looks at least 50% better but I noticed some scarring on his body possibly from rubbing against rocks. Once all the treatment is done I can probably move the new tang out of QT into the display and move the sailfin into the QT for some additional treatments
