Got my NanoStream

I've been hearing a lot of talk about the new Tunze NanoStreams that came out this week and have pretty much decided that I am going to put a couple in the 40 Breeder that I will be starting in a couple months. That is so long to wait though and since I have never been happy with the flow in my 30, I figured why not? Having never owned any Tunze products myself I was just going off of what I had heard on RC and others that use them. I ordered a 6025 which is the smallest of the three different Nanostreams and I must say I'm impressed. Here are a few pics.

They are definitely worth it. The smallest one blows away a MaxiJet1200 on flow and power consumption.

The 6025 gives a good amount of flow in my 30 gallon. In a tank any bigger I would start looking at the 6045. (almost 2x the flow @ 1189 gph) I will probably put 2 6045's in my 40 Breeder. If you want a nanostream that works with a Tunze controller you have to go with the 6055 but they are considerably more expensive.

If you need a flow upgrade in your small tank, I would highly suggest ordering some of these puppies as they become more readily available.

nice eric. i'd like to come and check these out. where did you order it from?

i'm looking at the 6055's since they are the only ones that are controllable. just hard to swallow the $$$

hehehe. yeah, i'd be up for a crawl in the near future. gimme a couple more weeks though. A couple of my fish requested that I send them off to the "Y" for advanced swimming lessons, they couldnt handle the current. (yuck, yuck, I crack myself up...)
I ordered them from PhishyBusiness. (They have a thread in the RC Sponsors forum) They were the first place that I saw that had them without a waiting list. Premium Aquatics will probably end up being a couple bucks cheaper but I didnt feel like waiting. As far as I know the 6025's are the only model available today. I think it will be more like mid-dec for the 6055's, and you're right the price is a little high on those. Have a good weekend all.

They look real nice CWebHokie, I also was looking at the 6055's with a multi controller but I'm with you on waiting CWebHokie I couldn't, so I am getting 2 x 6000 with a 7095 controller. I think that they should arrive around Tuesday of next week. I can't wait to get those small pumps out. NO MORE SUCTION CUPS.

Actually the 6025 and 6045 can be put on the traditional wavemakers. (The simple on/off style) They cannot however, be put on a Tunze Controller. The Tunze rep says that they will function fine (with minimal wear and tear) as long as they are on at least a 15 minute cycle.

They are back in stock at Phishybusiness - just got a PM from them ...

They are pretty sweet. A couple of words of warning. Be careful unpacking them, the way that the magnetic holder is packed in cardboard you can snap of the mounting tangs if you are forceful with it. Also, they are a little bit loud at first. I've noticed a handful of people in other threads with the same issue. No worries though, mine was near silent 48 hours later. Let me know what you guys think when you get them in...

I have been very pleased with Tunze in general .. the most worry and hassle free wavemakers I have ever used.
