Got My Potters Angel

Ok so I've paid for my potters and I was wondering if there were any last minute suggestions on feeding. It's eating off the rocks there and brine and mysis. Would it be beneficial to feed nori because I do with all my other fish. I was also wondering about acclimating time I was thinking 2 1/2 hours or more. Any suggestions or success stories are welcome. Thanks, Matt

I have had one for a couple of years. Mine eats everything but pellets. He will eat the frozen food and he also definitely eats the Nori. They will also pick at your LPS if not fed regularly. I feed my tank twice a day just to keep him away from the Acans and Favia and sometimes that does not even work.

Another key is not to use a net on them, thier gill spines are easily damaged with the net. I used a plastic container to move him around from acclimating to QT to the tank. I also made the LFS use a plastic container to get him out of the tank.

Good Luck!

Just got mine yesterday too. I had mine shipped from LADD so I was more concerned about the cold temps. I asked some acclimation questions on the thread below and got some good advice on duration, etc. I drip acclimated for a little more than an hour removing and replacing half the water bags water volume 3 times during the drip. Seemed to work well. Congrats on the nice fish!

tcinaustin-where did you get your potters and what and how was it doing at the store or website. Was it eating in general or off the rocks, if anything please tell. Thanks, Matt

reppo13 - I just got mine at the local fish store. He was small (~1"), no visible imperfections and active. There was no rock in the tank they had him in to pick at. I spent the next 30 minutes doing some internet research on my blackberry and observing him to make sure I knew what i was getting myself into and then asked the LFS to feed him. They fed him mysis, he ate, I bought him. I was not specifically looking for a Potters when I saw him.

Thanks this helps a lot as I am too getting mine from the lfs on saturday. I do always ask them to feed the fish before I buy and there is rockwork in the tank that he is in now and he is avidly picking off of it. Thanks, Matt
