So I woke up yesterday and glanced over at my tank and saw something stuck to my WP25, little pieces of hair looking things blowing in and out as my pumps switched on and off so I got out of bed to examine it, it was the antennas of my skunk cleaner shrimp and what looked to be his body stuck to the back side which I couldn't see from my bed, I immediately got really upset that I lost one of my favorite critters in my tank. So I peeled him off and gave him a proper flushing :(. And I was really bummed out the whole day cause he didn't even look sick or gave any signs that he was dying, But today I went to feed the tank and to my surprise I STILL HAD 2 SHRIMP!!!!!! I guess he just malted and was hiding for a bit as he got used to his new skin... This was my first time experiencing something malt in my tank so it didn't even cross my mind that, that's what it could of been.. I'm just so relieved that hes okay :lol2: YAY to the shrimp!! And thats the story. The end.

lol I have a fire shrimp that molted once and the shell was almost perfect, and happened to be legs stuck on the side glass of the tank. At a glance looked like the shrimp was just perched on the side glass. I'm the next day I'm like, "wierd he's still in the exact same spot". Then I took a closer look and saw that it was only the shell.

My coral banded shrimp molts 3-4 times a year (i've had him since 2006, so 7 years). I still check every time he molts to make sure it is just skin. It is pretty easy to tell because the skin is translucent and tends to fall apart when I remove it from the tank.

Each if my fire shrimp have molted twice in the last 3 months. Every time I do a double take. Especially the night I was doing flashlight recon and spotted the gorilla crab munching on what looked like part of one of my fire shrimp. Then I noticed two sets of white antennae behind the rock the crab was on! LOL

Lol, i had a similar scare with my Skunk. Saw the molt on the powerhead and freaked until i looked down at his normal spot and saw him there but being a little shy.

Pretty sure anyone with a crab or shrimp has had this heart attack at some point lol. I still have a small heart attack everytime my favorite electric blue hermit molts

Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only that made this misconception. And on another note I got my first 2 frags in my tank today! Pretty excited I got a Birds nest frag about 1.5'' and a 1.5'' green toadstool frag that opened up only an hour after putting it in... Finally nice to see a little color in my tank.. I know it's off topic, but I'm excited and just felt the need to tell some people that appreciate these kinda things unlike my girlfriend that just blows it off
