so i've got hundreds of baby snails that i noticed yesterday. they're all very small and everywhere!

any negative things that can come of this?

i think they are baby astrias. or however you spell that.

I am going to strongly disagree with you, then scold you, and hopefully shame you.

They are most likely Collinista snails, not Astrea.
Other possibilities are Cerith or Nerite.

They are just a part of your cycle, if you keep the amount of crabs low they will always be in abundence. They are also self limiting. I personally have noticed that they either eat or keep corals free of cyanobacteria.

PS. Astrea have a 99.9% chance of never ever having viable larve - babies in your tank.

mmmmm......viable larve

So your saying theres a chance:D :D :D

They could also be strombus maculatus. I have quite a few reproducing in my 29g tank.

well they are to small to tell, but they don't seem to be any of the snails you mentioned.
but they are small, and maybe the shells don't elongate until later.

i have had at least 1 baby nara... something snail born in my tank. blackish shell, elongated...

That made me laugh, seems like your making a new tank sound a lot like slipping a new small block into an old camaro.
