Whew.... what a day! Finally home to check out my stomatopods!
I will know more details tomorrow, but Im working out a bulk purchase of snails from one of my LFS. Last time I bought the whole bag of 50 they let me have them for .75 each! If anyone else would be interested in that let me know... ;)

shiveley, thanks for the kind offer ~ I may take you up on that!

Thomas,

It was a pleasure i love both mine. So far the Chiragra is actually been more active than my Peacock:)

Do you know what sex the 3 Chiragras were, if they were all males etc?

I got the one that said adopt me? It was the medium size one. There was a smaller one and then a pretty darn big one

Thanks again Thomas was definely a pleasure. i'm sure i will order a wennerae from you guys one day

I was having a little fun with the bag naming:D sorry..

Thanks to the whole group for the kind remarks. As far as the chiragras go I believe the two larger were female and cuddles was the male. We now have an adopt a chiragra program. So for as little as 1penny a day you can house a special chiragra that needs your love and attention. A chiragra that might not get the oppurtunity to have a life or education like other mantis in the world. :)thanks guys.

Cool, then sounds like i got a female.

Do you guys ahve that many Chiragra's? You don even try and sell them?

What are you favorite Mantis?

Hey Thomas!
I ended up keeping "Show Me Love"! Thank's!!! :D

And for anyone interested I still have "Call Me Cuddles" available for adoption... FREE TO GOOD HOME ONLY!
It would be kind of everyone to join www.stomatopod.com on their forum and leave positive feedback for all their help with aiding us in becoming proud new keeper's of stomatopod! ;)

We really don't have that many just kidding a little. We get them quite often and for some reason despite seeming somewhat active they are overlooked . As far as my favorite to own I would say peacock..,To collect E.Guerinii, to have I have always loved Haptosquillids since I began to keep mantids.

Thanks Bodibuilt...

We would love to have you all in the forums.I also enjoy the reef central mantis board..I named him cuddles because he got me during bagging.

so here she is. My wife named her manty moore. She's already busted open two snails, i'll need to get some crabs or something.

Well, at first I was affraid I would rarely catch a glimps of my peacock...she chose to dig her burrow BEHIND a large rock! But I was pleased to find this morning that she had added a "front door" entrance to her burrow which is now in perfect view so I was able to get a couple pics of her! :)

Nuuze, sorry to hear about your loss :( You can have Cuddle's or Show Me Love if you are interested...

You guys should be able to get crayfish at most fishing/bait stores in the area. The bait store by my house even has them segregated by size, from 1" to 5". Probably a lot cheaper there than at an LFS. Most bait stores also sell glass shrimp, which would probably be a much appreciated snack as well. Anyway, crayfish are a pretty common bait in the Sacramento area, so you shouldn't have any difficulty finding them CHEAP.
