Yes we do. Thanks to Davey! : ) I started kinda wanting one from reading this thread....then when Davey came up with a trade on my UV for her....I figured....why not? So now I'm the proud owner of G.Chiragra! And she/he (how do ya tell???) is already in the 10 gal I was supposed to use as a quarantine. It was originally going to be in my sump for a while, but kept diving back and forth over the baffles! My birthday's next week....so I'm thinking about looking for a used 20 gal plexi for the mantis. I even got a couple pics of her/him.
I got her to take a small piece of krill from me (Ummmm the turkey baster actually) shortly after she was settled. Also, gave her a roomate. A turbo snail out of my big tank. The turbo made it through the night.
One thing I think is absolutely hilarious is she plays peek-a-boo. I found myself staring face to face with her through one of the openings in her cave. Then I went around the side and looked through another hole to see what she'd do and she ran over to that one and kind of hid behind a piece of rock inside and kept peeking around the corner at me. Freakin' hilarious.

These guys are awesome! Going back and reading earlier on in this thread, I think I have "Adopt Me". I love it. These guys are so cool!!!!
The first pic (I thought the only one I would be able to get for a while)
Davey...Jo Jo's is worth the drive!!! Best to go either Tuesday after 4 or 5 pm or Wednesday morning and I think he said Friday night or Saturday morning. They get their shipments in on Tuesday and (I think) Friday.
he also got a Ternetensis i really want in. emailed him about it. show a pic in the sneak peak and there is a tab with the pic buut the folder is empty
He also got in a complete white ciliata. check out the Ternetensis
Finicky Chiragra. She's eating but not much. She wanted nothing to do with a silverside. She has two hermies and 2 snails as roomies and the most she's done with them is knock the crap out of one when it went to her door, then let it go. I gave her a krill yesterday and she ate about half of it then let the leftovers float away. Normal? should I worry?
I'm not sure if maybe she was just too busy building that day. The first day she ate a krill no problem. Then she went straight to work digging and rearranging....not too interested in anything but that. She might have picked at the silverside a little....she took it from me.....but later I found it outside her cave. She ate most of the krill I gave her yesterday....maybe I'll give her a couple days and try another silverside.
Its possible she may be preparing to molt. If she hole's up in her cave for a few day's do not be too alarmed. Often they will gorge themselves with food up until that point, and then fast until finished molting. My peacock "Mandolyn" just sucessfully finished her first molt since being in my care. I was a little nervous at first when she sealed herself into her cave... I did not see her for six day's!
She was out yesterday morning and the night before periodically. But haven't seen her out at all last night or today, except to poke her head out or eyeball the hermie walking past her entrance. Maybe that's her deal. I'll keep my eye out to see if I see her out.
Mine has only eaten one hermit, and I practically had to drop it in his lap. Mostly he loves the frozen mysis I put in for the other animals in the tank. He has eaten a few krill and silversides off a stick though.
From what I have been reading these guys can be really picky if they feel like it.
I'm thinking Bodi may be right about her getting ready to molt. She hasn't been out since yesterday morning. she kind of has a cave within a cave and I'll see her come out from under her home rock and peek move around in the cave....but then she just goes right back.
Bodi - thanks! I love my Chiragra. Haven't come up with a name yet. And Davey didn't tell me if he had given her one.
BTW - she ate a krill today....not till after she let me know she doesn't like chopsticks! I don't know what her deal with not coming out the last couple days was....but she's good to go now.
