Hi Everyone,

I know it's been awhile since I've been online, but I wanted to give a heads up to everyone that H2o Exclusive is opening their store this weekend.

Their hours are from 10-6, and they are located at 7500 14th Avenue in Sac. You can call Dennis at 916-451-7595 for more information.

He mentioned that he's running several specials and is suppose to get a shipment from Australia and Red Sea on Friday. He said that shipment should have some nice Acans and other livestock.

One of the specials he wanted me to mention is on salts

Instant Ocean - 50 gallon bag $9.75
Sea Chem Reef - bucket $34.99
Sea chem Marine - bucket $28.99

If anyone isn't doing anything this weekend, it'd be fun to check out his store. I was watching him construct it and it seemed pretty cool.

Thanks
Dave

I couldn't agree with you more. I was suprised that he was still going through with it despite the economy sliding down down down.

At least he's very optomistic. I hope he stays afloat as he's a good guy.

He mentioned that he's negotiating with his supplier. When he does finalize a deal, he said they would go for $46 bucket, but currently doesn't have any in stock.

Dennis has always struck me as one of the more knowleagable LFS people. He puts the time in to keep up with the hobby because he has the reef bug.

I've also been surprised at his ability to make a living in the industry. I'm guessing that his business skills are pretty good too.

I'm hopeful that we'll have another quality store in town.

Hmmm....tried to call that number and got a fax machine. Then drove by and only found a bunch of car repair places at that address.

?????

It's there. I called and talked to Dennis this afternoon, and he offered to let me come over and take a look, which I did. It is in an industrial/auto repair complex. I think there is a lot of promise.

How cool....Another fish store in SAC! At this rate, you could run 500 yards in any direction and end up in front of a LFS. Where's the love for Vacaville (Sea Splendor doesn't count) And as far as I know, Blue Moon Corals hasn't opened despite the teaser 4 months ago.

As of tonight there were a number of nice fish in, and the tanks are clean, but not coral selection as of yet (a few soft and lps). He has Coral ReVive and Brightwell aquatics products, as well as PE Mysis in all sizes, Koralias and a few other things.

Agree...Dennis has done a nice job. Nice selection of frequently used drygoods and frozen foods. I forgot to tell him he should carry Rod's Food. Really want to try that stuff. Can't wait to see how the lagoon in the center turns out.

give em time (Blue Moon), they'll be open soon :D

Just as a heads up for anyone stopping by the shop tomorrow (Sunday) it will only be opened from 12pm-3pm.

H2O Exclusive will not be opened on Sundays because the gates are closed on that day. Please call Dennis ahead of time so he can give you the code.

The correct number is 916-451-7595.

i went there today. IMHO he got some really nice system running for his tanks, he didnt get cheap on the filtration and the rest. Its just a matter of time for everything to set but the saltwater pond looks good. the water in the tank are crystal clear. i think sacramento have another good reef shop. This is also good because im from elk grove i dont have to far to get to a good reef store.

it's always a pleasure to tour the great fish stores - we are truly lucky! add H20 Exclusive to the list. it's up and coming, so dont' expect to see a premium selection - yet - but if you want to watch one come together then this is the place to watch.

met dennis for the first time yesterday - as everyone has said - great guy, very knowledgeable and ambitious.

as for the store - i would rather pull up, not be wow'd by the store front and be amazed once i pass through the door vs. be wow'd by the store front and disappointed once i'm in. at H20 exclusive it gets better and better the deeper you get in the store!

as mentioned above, the filtration system is unlike anything i've seen before - very impressive! the pond, can't wait to see that full up and running - again, unlike anything i've ever seen but it definately appeals to my new fascination for top-down viewing of our reefs. folks, corals are limited right now - but the fish selection was absolutely fantastic - seen some fish i've never seen in 3 yrs of touring the stores - prices; not sure if it's allowed so i won't go there - but lets just say i saw several purple fish $20 cheaper than one of the same size only 20 mins earlier elsewhere. i truly wish my tank was not full of fish - i would have walked out with bags full.

folks, get over and check this place out. if you are in a position to add more stock to your tank - this is a great place to start - not to mention it will help add another great store to the weekend tour!

thanks dennis - for taking the time to show us your work of art. the alligator/lizard critter in the display was awesome - again, something i've never seen before.

oh - if you do go; if you pay close attention - you'll see something else unique - your clue is; "where's waldo" [but think like a reefer] :)

I went to H2O exclusive today and I can agree with KMP. He is right when he says the outside of the shop isn't anything, but boy when you get inside it's a completely new experience.

Dennis is a really friendly guy and is knowledgeable. I asked about corals and he said he is still trying to mature his systems before bringing in the acros.

His prices are really good. His fishes are very cheap even considering what is online and they are healthy looking too.

I took a few pics of his place to share for those who didn't get a chance to check it out. Definitely do stop by, he said he is closed on Sundays, but is open Mon-Sat, 10-6PM.

The lagoon/pond in the center of the store will be a touch/feel area. He's also thinking about making it a bit kid friendly so parents can shop while kids play. All in all, I think he's going the right way.

Here's a pic of one of his displays:

Cool looking eel.

Filtration system that has these beads in them, never see this before. This thing is huge, it's as tall as the room is high.

Rare lizard from Brazil. Much better in person.
