granulosa browning

I have a granulosa that has recently started browning. My tank has several other acros that are doing well and growing a lot. My calcium level and alk level is kind of high over 500 and over 11 dkh. what other factors can it be? is it possible that its too close to the light?

I've had my granulosa for about a month and a half. It was one of my first sps but is encrusting the slowest whereas my other acros have encrusted quickly. I was thinking I wasnt meeting its specific requirements because I read that it is a deepwater acro

I have found that granulosa to be a very beautiful and colorful coral, but they can be hard to keep the color in them. I had 2 different ones and they both stn'd on me. I did manage to save a small frag of each. One of them is coloring up and growing nicely, the other which it a 1/8 tip is slowly encrusting. They need super stable water parameters, good lighting and low nutrients. Bring your ca down to 450 and you alk to 8-9.

Just cause its called a deep water doesnt mean it likes low light and flow medium to medium high light and flow. Just make sure to light acclimatise it, especially now that its brown. I have mine lookin great up at the top, just off to the side of my metal halide and its getting blasted with flow.
