Grape Calupra going wild!

My nano was being taken over by grape calupra. It was practically chocking the corals. I got tired of piking it out. So I took the rocks out and soaked them in fresh water, and scrubed them down. A few pieces remain on the corals and rocks here and there.
Question: What was causing the calupra to grow so aggressively?

hey next time you get rid of some ship me a batch lol joking (pm me if you ant to) ok the problem is that i need you water parmeters. without these, i cannot tell you an honest opinion. Without them, i think have high nutrient levels but i cannot be surtain. thanks

calurpa grows aggressively. you should pick a macro that doesn't grow some aggressively. someone gave me some bryopsis and man, that thing nearly took hostage of my tank! i took out all the ones that root themselfs in the tank. i only have macro's that i have to glue on rocks.

I'm going to keep an eye on the growth level.
Is there another type of macroalgae that I can put in the tank that will compete for nutrients so the grape calupra growth may slow down?

i like chaeto because it is easy to harvest and doesn't go sexual.

about calupra.... If I have a screen on my return pump from the sump. Can it migrate to the top tank?

Can try switching light. Macroalgae seems do best at or below 6,500K.
Blueish light (15,000k +) may help.

that wont work by itself though. i saw a 150g with 4 400 watt 20,000k and his calupra drove him out of the hobby.
