Anyone kept the Hovens and Gray Head wrasses together. Or how about any of the below listed together... a 55 gallon tank for now :)

Vroliks
Christmas
Hovens
Gray Head

I understand that generally you want to mix coloration and size and to a point gender, but with these having many of the same characteristics and coloration wondering if problems may persist. I understand one will never really know until you try with different temperament of fish, but some consensus may have been gleaned from a past hobbiests attempting to house one or more of these together.

Thanks for the help!

I actually had the opportunity to do this today. They were selling a really nice Hoevens at my LFS and I thought about adding it to my display which already houses a gray headed wrasse. I dont see why it wouldnt work out, although it all depends with an aquarium your size. I house in my aquarium a yellow coris, dusky wrasse, and a gray headed wrasse. I thought long and hard about getting the Hoevens but in the end I passed since they look so much like the Hoevens. I figured I would wait for a radiant wrasse to come along.

i've never had major issues mixing Halichoeres. Using an acclimation box is a great way to introduce a new wrasse
