I just wanted to jump on here and say I had a really good conversation with Matthias while I was at Reefapalooza about all things GHL.
I will talk more about it in the near future but I wanted to post this here due to my last frustration and caffeine fueled rant.
In talking about my problems in flashing the firmware we were discussing some of the pros and cons of the Profilux and he mentioned something that never even occurred to me but explains a lot of why I was getting frustrated.
So I have been looking at the Profilux as a computer, or at least a controller with the brains of a small computer. But it is in fact an embedded system.
This means (to keep it short) currently the way firmware is updated is the best way to do it. To work around it will require some serious work, and from our conversation it sounds like he is investigating ways around it.
In the end, I am even more convinced that the Profilux is the best controller on the market.
