Great Little Hippo

My LFS called me(my buddy owns) and told me he had a baby hippo tang
about the size of a 50 cent piece. Was in the tank less than 2 hrs and eating like a pig!

I just got 2 about the size of a nickel - same attitude too. Definitely fun to watch steal food away from the bigger fish. Good luck w/ your guy

Little blue tangs are fun to watch. I had one that loved to play in the flow from my powerhead.

I almost got one that size this week.

I always like to get little specimens rather than a full grown. To me if I get them young then they grow better acclimated to a tnk environment. Seems cruel to take an adult fish off the reef and no a little tank.

Wow he is small, really cool congrats. Btw that tank is really sweet!! How big is it and how many gallons? Ive seen that shaped tank before used for freshwater but never a reef tank! I really like it i might try to talk my gf into a small one as a second tank

I agree. I alway when possible get juvenile's for my tank as well..

Thanks, It is a 54 gallon corner hex. Actually, my wife's idea as i was going to get an Oceanic half circle. But i like this as a small reef myself after it was set up. It's 5 months old now.. I have grown to really like it myself.

Very nice. I really like how the aquascaping was done it makes it look like it goes on forever! Makes it look very deep front to back! Good job man
