Hey guys that showed up, it was great! I liked the enthusiasm and it was great meeting everyone! Next months will be even better and hopefully more people can make it.

Melissa........what happened.......you bailed out on us!:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: haha

Chris, I was thinking perhaps next week we can do a little discussion about zoo eating nudibranchs just to get everyone aware of certain pests that may be in our tanks. Something informative.

Evil nudibranch & snails that eat Zooanthids sounds like a great presentation, Mike. Make it so!!!! Kidding, sort of.

It sounds like you're fresh on this research and could easily prepare a presentation on this topic. Our numbers are pretty small so if no one has a screen, laptop, and projector, then paper handouts with some color photos to pass around would be fine.

Great!!!

LOL, I put next week, I meant next month! That tells you I am already looking forward to the next meeting.

I'll do some quick research and let you know if I can do a presentation.

Hey Great! - just a suggestion but maybe at bit about the toxicity of Zoo's when ruptured as well. I know there have been photos of hands and stories on RC. Nasty stuff in those innocient stalks and colorful circles. All the more reason to wear long arm gloves and goggles if not full-face mask when handling. Good luck - PM if you need any help.

Good stuff, thanks kinghokus for the link. Made things a lot easier.

I might write up the presentation on powerpoint and send it to Chris and have him print it out and give to the members to look at. I better do it quick because Chico State is about to start and I will be swamped.

Alright, my enthusiasm has made me start on the powerpoint for the zoos. Its going to be titled "Dumies guide to zoanthids"

Anyways, after thinking, I think if someone has a laptop that we can do the powerpoint presentation that would be great. Chris can I use your laptop to do the presentation? When I get to the pics of all the various zoos, I can walk around and show people.

Sure (uhhem... it is my work laptop) but it does not have powerpoint installed on it. ;-(

And maybe simply passing the photos around for people to puruse at their leisure.

Yup things are beginning to get busy around Chico...

Darn it about your laptop. Well, I guess when I finish with the presentation, I will forward it to you to check, redo, etc and then you hold onto it and see if you can make some copies at work or something :D

Be prepared to be blown out of your minds with some of the crazy zoo pics! Amazing stuff.

Hey Cindy, glad you posted! You were MIA for a while.

I'd like to use your laptop for the presentation! next meeting is Sept 7 @ 7pm at the Round Table Pizza on Pillsbury Rd. Its the one by Pet Works.

I hope you can make it! Write it down on a piece of paper so that way you know not to do anything on Sept 7th!

Anyone been to Cindy's site? Click on the little red house next to her username. Yorkies are cute dogs but they are pricey!

The CRC says Sept 7. Is it the 7th or the 14th? Doesn't matter to me but we need to get it finalized!!!

Maybe to make it easier, lets make it the first friday of each month. Let me know your input.

Mike, I already found out that the Redding club meets on the first friday and we don't want to conflict with them. With MARS the third Friday and we already know what the last friday-weekend of the month conflicts with so - The Second Friday of the month is what it is. It was finalized already.

Ok so after my improvised comment period, I now declare that the Chico Reef Club meeting will be the second Friday of the month at 7pm from now on. This August meeting will be at the north Chico Round Table off of Pillsbury Rd - Near movie theater.

I understand that the CRC page states the 7th. Yesterday, I emailed Kane a request to change it. It appears as of this time it still has not changed. I imagine unlike us, he may be busy with actual work.

I just called him and left a message but please Let's say it again. SECOND Friday of the Month.

Ok yes I am sooooooooo sorry that I wasn't there. Life tends to get in the way sometimes. I will definitely be at the next meeting.

And what snails kill zoas because I am having probs with one of the little blue hermits in my tank who is about to become unshelled.!!!!!!!!

Melissa, there is a snail called the sundial snail that eats zoos. It has a circular round shell. Go on google and search SUNDIAL SNAIL. If you see any, kill it!

Hermits don't eat zoos but they could be picking at it if the zoo is already dying or somethign like that.

Let me know what happens.
