Great parts sale

Took a buddy to Big Al's today to look at nano choices and by chance they were getting rid of all their defect/returns for 5 bucks each. I scored 2 mag 24's several mag 9's 7's and 5's that mostly all work fine (think I had 2 deads) most had something sucked into them causing them to chatter one had a leaky seal on the front side. Also picked up 3 of the higher end canister filters that were just missing minor parts like a clip or a carbon cartridge. The best part was my buddy who went to look at the nanos was also able to grab an eclipse system that had a defective ballast (which turned out to be the bulb). All said and done our receipts totaled about 2k but came out to abound 45 bucks. Not that I will use most of it, but whatever. 5 minutes sooner and I could have picked up the 2 R/O units that just had a bent mounting bracket. The only annoying part is they only bring out a certain amount of stuff due to limited room, but that gives everyone a chance to get something serviceable if you dont mind buying 2 to make 1 in most cases.

Just a heads up for you guys since I think they are doing it again tomorrow.

Re: Great parts sale

Thanks for the heads up. I scored a aqualifter and ph controller. It didn't have a ac adapter. But looked brand new. For 5 bucks how could I go wrong. If any one is looking for a new tank. They had a few on clearance.

Dang - I'm just seeing this for the first time. I guess there is no point in going up there now as I'm sure nothing worth anything is left.

Chuck they had some pumps, canister filters and lots of power filters. Plus I think they bring out new stuff when the box gets lower.

I think they close at 6 PM.

Maybe it will be $5 per bag full instead of $5 ea right before closing time. Maybe I'll zoom up there. I need a break anyway.
