Great Polyp Extension, Poor Colors

So I have been dabbling back with SPS again, and I picked up three frags on Sunday, but there are just some questions.

The polyp extension looks good, they are out and waving around, but the color of the SPS itself is really poor. Almost a cream color. They came to me from another local reefer who has an amazing tank and has the exact same bulb combination as me as well as fixture.

My parameters are well within SPS range, and other SPS frags I have gotten are doing amazing. Any reason why these could be not colored up yet? Should I even be worrying? Will color just return when they are ready?

These photos were taken in the morning after the lights had been out for several hours. I used a flashlight to get enough light to snap some pics.

On the last pic, mind you its a bit fuzzy, those appear to be AEFW eggs on the base.

Time will tell, but better safe to qt.

Can you take pictures when the main lights are on? Acros grown under LED's will tend to look pale and white with a flashlight while those grown under T5, at least in my experience, look a little better. In both cases they won't look as good as with the main lights on.

Can you take a pic of an acro that's doing well along with one of these new ones? If the others are fine it may just take a month or so for the new frags to get used to the tank and color up.

Markalot: I have the 5 foot, 8 bulb ATI sunpower fixture with ATI bulbs, and a reefbrite xho for moonlights at night. I used to have the Maxspect Razr's but got rid of them. I will take some pics of the corals that are doing well and post em for ya later tonight.

And Vette.Tech, there is no flash on the camera, it is just the flashlight reflecting off the glass. I know the shots are horrible compared to some of the pics on this site, but I don't have an DSLR, these are cell phone camera shots with zoom (yeah a great combo, crappy lighting, crappy camera, zero photography skills)

I did the same, except I put the six bulb fixture over my tank. Did the person you got the corals from use T5 or LED, or MH? Sometimes a lighting change will brown out the acros and they can take a few weeks to color back up.

As per the original post. The friend who hooked me up, has the dimmable ATI 8 bulb. I have the non dimmable. (big whoop)

I am not sure of his photo period however, which obviously could play a role.
