Did another snorkel dive at the inlet today(8/27). The water vis and temp was the best I've seen there in months. If you get a chance to get out there do so. Before that storm around Cuba stirs things up again.
Get out there and enjoy.:D

you diving the inlet or offshore via boat?
I dive on the inside of the inlet in a little protected cove.
What do you see? All kinds of stuff. Anything from morey eels to queen angels. French angels, butterfly fish, pork fish, high hats, blue tangs, small parrot fish, blue/yellow damsels along with the obligatory sargents. I even caught a hog fish there two weeks ago, but it didn't make it. :(
I thought the water was muddy up there??
It depends on the tide and how washed out the surf is. When the waters are calm and you have a real good in coming tide the vis is sometimes quite good.

Did another dive today,9/16, and the vis is back to being terrible. It had to be the rough surf from the hurricanes off the coast. Visibilty was about 5' and there is a really abnormally high tide. If you're snorkeling with 5' vis and an really high tide you can't see much unless you constantly hold your breath and go all the way to the bottom. Only problem with that is if you do too repidly you can hyperventilate. I know I've done it in the past.
