Great Stuff vs. Atlantic Black Spray Foam

Building a rock wall on three sides of my tank and I have questions. I have read more than enough opinions and thoughts on the matter. Now it's time to put foam vs foam.

We all know that Great Stuff foam from HD is cheaper than the pond foams, but I've heard that it will deteriorate over time. I have not found anyone to say how long it will last before deteriorating or it actually deteriorating in their tank.

I've also read that if you put epoxy on top of it and add crushed coral/sand then you don't have to worry about it.

Great Stuff is about a third cheaper and you can purchase one can at a time for that price. The Atlantic Black Pond Foam needs to be bought 12 at a time to receive the most competitive pricing.

Has anyone had experience with the foam deteriorating?

you should be able to get the pond foam at HD or Lowes where they sell pond supplies, at mine it is in the garden center. For a few dollars more I would go with the pond foam, with what we spend on tanks and livestock is it worth risking it for $5?
