Is that red turf algae you have there? It's a short stringy red algae almost impossible to pull out or brush off. If it is, very large turbo snails will eat that. I had that and used them with great success. I returned the snails afterwards and then it grew back in some spots. Bought another large turbo and it was completely eradicated

My guess would be that it is A. formosa.
