went back to my apartment tonight and noticed green algae starting to get on all my rocks...any suggestions? I did a 5g water change so I hope that helps. I've been at my parents for the holidays so I feel bad, I've been tying to get over there as much as possible. I'm pretty sure I'm done with the hobby though =(. If anyone is interested in a 14 biocube, 15lb rock, 15lb sand, couple snails, couple crabs, cleaner shrimp...let me know asap. 200 bucks for it all. Tank is probably 3 weeks old, still have reciepts and whatnot.

is 200 to much? I'm not sure what a fair price would be...getting rid of it would end up saving me cash in the long run so offers are also excepted. I've put around 450 in it so far

do you have a skimmer? the algea is all apart of starting a new tank.. we just started our 20g tall and we are just getting rid of the algea problem with our new skimmer. and we have had the tank for 2 months.

Are you using RO water?

It's only 3 weeks old... get more crabs/snails if you only have a couple

My dad's 40 gallon was covered in thick green stuff. He's never had a saltwater tank before. Now he's had this one for only 6 months and his corals are growing 20times faster than mine ever have (I'm jealous). His algae is finally gone too! If it's because of the algae, I hope you don't give up on it.

Kent Marine Clarifier I think is the name of it. Put that stuff in and it will be gone in a few days. I had a problem and it was gone my corals got a little mad but the came back strong just do a water change aftter your done. Then change your bulbs that is probably why you had the hair algae outbreak to begin with
