Green Aussie Goniopora AKA Flower Pot Coral

Some of you know I am new to Corals and have a Tank that has been waiting most of a year to mature before I buy Corals.

Well the other day I decided it was time and shopped at a LFS and bought basically a bargain 6 for 20.00 dollar deal. I also bought a bit larger Frag of Hammer for 25.

...and then i saw the most beautiful coral flowing I had ever seen. Like the others it was 15% off so 50.00 seemed pretty good for a Coral that I already liked the size. When retracted it looks like Brain Coral so I knew this was the size it would pretty much stay. It has a lot of tiny new tentacles in the center areas.

I was told it was an Aussi Goni...what ever that was. Oh Boy...so I started reading (Like I should have done prior to shopping) and found out this is a Flower pot Coral and as far as the green one goes , it will probably not last 10 months.

Mine looks like it has unusually long end bristles and seems EXTREMELY healthy. I post a Video and request any helpful knowledge I may need. I have placed it center and low in sand, low flow area (it flows with almost no current) . It is very very green almost neon.

I have also ordered some Liquid Life Marine Plankton w/ Cyclop-eeze 30ml to start some feeding. Any thoughts :)

my advice is don’t be so negative at this point you have a nice looking coral that very well could live, just leave it alone "except for feeding" by that i mean try not to stress it out by changing its flow moving it or placing any corals to close to it. my experience dictates that they tend to crash shortly after transport or being touched. so good luck

Thanks Joe :) I decided last night to place it and leave it and feed it. In my search for info I quickly saw that mine is exceptionally beautiful. I feel lucky to have it and my wife REALLY enjoys looking at it. I am quite anal about water parameters (as a novice this means I might keep the water pretty good) and do changes in small amounts about every three days.

I am generally an optimist , until all this reading that is. So thanks for getting me back on track. It remains looking perfect with ZERO signs of anything looking faded or bad. Perhaps putting the radion LED at 60% and lower and putting the power heads at minimal was a good thing from the start.
