These are all a bit soft. What lens were you shooting with?

500mm f/6.3 max aperture? Were you shooting with a teleconverter?

agree on the softness. Did you sharpen them in your post-processing? may have cropped a little differently too. Esp the Blue Heron into a vertical (in camera) to not have his feet cut off. Fun shooting when you have good subjects though isn't it?

It's a Sigma 150-500,, was also quite windy and I was on the boat alone. None of the shots were from stationary platform.
It always seems when I make a little time the wind picks up. I reprocessed the heron's . I actually cut the feet off in the pic as the boat blew by him it was just the sharpest pic I got this time. I reproceesed here. Any better?

Your shots do look a little warm to me though. I think you may have over sharpened the great blue heron as well.
