green bubble tip anemone spitting out stuff

Help, I came home today and noticed one of my green tip anemone spitting out a cloud of stuff. My whole tank is cloudy.

I have a 180 Gallon tank with 100 gal sump. Parameters last measure was good. The tank has been stable for a 2 years now. No problems until today. I just did a water change yesterday.

Thanks for any comments.

Jim

sounds like it may be spawning...often a sign of stress, which triggers a survival instinct...

how are your bulbs?

what are you parameters?

T = 78, Nitrite = 0, Amonia = 0, Nitrate 10-20, PH = 8.2, Calcium = 440. SG = 1.022. I do 28 gallons water change every 10 days.

My 2 bulbs are 175 MH AB 13K, 4 months old. I did just added 2 pc 65 Watts actinic.

I have 8 anemones, they are all doing fine. Just one has been moving, but always around the same rock. He has been going to the bottom of the tank.

Will this harm my other corals? Do I need an immediate water change?

It may be normal since I've seen them shrivel up to very small (just like now). But never my water that cloudy before.

thanks,

Jim

Also run carbon, And you should always have a batch of ready mixed SW on hand just incase. ;)

I'd also increase salinity to 25-26, and maybe a little more light, another MH, or T5's, or both.
8 nems same tank?
All same kind?
Pics.

Yea, I should of have a pre-mixed batch of salt water. I guess I learned a lesson. I did mixed two batches of water 12 gal each using a couple of rio1700 pumps to mix for 30 minutes. That was the best I can do.

The tank looks great now. The GBTA is back to normal. My RBTA split yesterday also. Now I have 4 RBTA and 5GBTA. They all are doing good. I'm planning on selling half of it to reduce the space, cause they are getting too close to my other corals. I started out with 2RBTA and 2GBTA 2 years ago and slowly the grew and split. I have 2RBTA that is about 14" and probably going to split soon.

I have been thinking of adding some lights, mainly T5 as actanics. Another MH175 may kill me in electricity bill, but I'm considering it.

Thanks for everyone's comments,

-J

As for the Pic, I will take some photo when I get my camera back. Although I have been visiting RC for a while now, I never posted, so I'm afraid I don't know how to post a pic yet. I did uploaded a cou[le of pic to my photo gallery. You might be able to see them. When I figure this photo thing, I will post better pictures.

Upload to a hosting site like photobucket or imageshack and paste the img tag here. I think that's the easiest way to do it.

Good luck with your nem!

Matt

Looks nice, and I use photobucket myself.
Your corals aren't super light needy IMO.
I would keep the 2 MH for light/shimmer and swap the Pc's for a nice bank of T5's maybe some bluer color when it fits budget.
