I am new to his hobby but was curious how hard these are to care for? Any tricks to keeping them healthy? Water temp? Were to place them? Etc etc. Thanks for info

Strong light is important. Water quality has to be good enough to grow soft coral. Placing them can be tough - they tend to go where they want to go. Provide a crevice of some sort where it can plant it's foot deep and still open up to the light. Not too tough to keep. Watch out for intakes and power heads.

they need a well established tank, IMO at least 1 year old with good water params, good light (enough for corals SPS), LR to attach themselves... there is ton of info out there, be careful with ur powerheads

Honestly you don't need to wait that long, it all depends on your tank and how long it takes to stabilize. I do recomend the tank be at least 4-6 months to make sure you don't have any more swings in your parameters and your comrfortable with your maintance. Keep testing your water and make sure your nitrates and phosphates are under control for at least two months. In that time you should also do as much reading to make sure you pick out a healthy one and know what to look for if its deteriorating.
With bta you should aim for medium-high lighting(depending on your tank size too). They don't need as much light as most other hosting nems, but its best to go with more and let it find some shade if it wants. They really are fairly hardy as hosting nems go as long as you know what your doing, which is where the time comes in.
