Do carpet anemones split in tankss very often? I have a green carpet and it has been in the same place for about 6 months. All of a sudden it moved to the back behind a bunch of rocks. Any thoughts on this? I haven't done anything different that I think would have caused this. I have hqi lighting and direct feed the anemone twice a week.
Thanks

gosh, I dont know, that is odd, I thought if I replied then it would bump this up and someone else would have an idea, I have a green carpet, have only had it for a few weeks, just wondered if this was common behavior for them.

I have a green anemone and she moves often. I'll give you a little help. I move my maxie jet to apply direct current on her. 90% of the time she moves toward the current to get under it. I belive she does this because she knows moving away can cause more current. From my understanding (S. Haddoni ) or green carpet is sexual not asexual, although there have been a few reports of splitting and even spitting goo. The spitting goo is supposed to cause the "fragging" of a new anemone. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks Dale
