I have not added any fish yet as I am cycling. But I like the look of Green Chromis, but a friend of mine who kind of got me into this just added 3. One died and the other two have just kind of been hiding now for half of one day and last night and still havent really came out.
IME, it depends on the size of the tank, and the environment around it.
The same chromis that were shy and reclusive in my nano tank in the foyer come up to my hand in the 300 gallon tank, which is in a much less busy area of the house.
Hmmm. Well currently I have the same tank as he does (Biocube 29 HQI, well his is the original Biocube 29 mod with a MH light) so I hope that is not always true.
This is most definitely not always true. I have ONE green chromis in my 125 and it is ALWAYS out and about. It comes right up to the glass with all the other fish when anybody approaches the tank.
IMO it depends on the fish and its tank mates aggressiveness.
my pair stay in the branches of a large staghorm colony I have in my 90....they come out further when food is in the tank and they kiss like kissing fish too:eek2:
how susceptible are green chromis to ich? are they any more or less susceptible than other fish? i have heard they are hearty fish but does that also go with parasites or things like ich?
