Green hair algae

my purple tang eats whatever he can find that is an algae...

before adding new fish maybe try find the reason you have hair algae, do you have detectable levels of nitrate or phosphates.

True point. Only reason I get it is because it grows in the overflows which is normal. Nutrients cannot get cleaned out of there. I just rip it and toss it in the tank for them to munch on.

Algae...

Algae...

Male emerald crabs are your best bet in the crab family for mowing down algae. Also, Mexican Turbo snails...they take it down pretty quick. Most won't eat it if it's really long so you may have to pull the long stuff out. Do try to find you source though, or it will be a constant battle. Have you checked your phosphates? Cutting down on feeding is also helpful. Gl, Marcye

i had algae in the overflows, but made a cover so they don't get any light in there. worked great-no algae. but i have a aiptasia scrubber in there now :/

yeah cham thats what I do, the snails do a great job of cleaning in there, so i dont have to take it apart very often.
