Green Hair Algae

HaHaHaHa. No really. HaHaHaHa.

You can scrub it off, reduce your photoperiod, and get rid of *ALL* nutrient sources. That stuff is a bear.

yes..not completely but you will not see it anymore

i run RowaPhos and ChemiPure in a Phos Reactor
do 10% water changes a week religiously
have a diverse clean-up crew

dont have a hair algae problem

Get a "sea hare" Its a sea slug of sorts and all they eat is hair algea. Problem is if they eat it all they starve =( Also, my flame angel eats it for some reason. I have one little tuft of it and he is always there picking away.

Can anyone verify that Sea Hares will eat that much algae ?...My rock is covered with it, not one rock...all of it...and I'm just about at wits end...I can't figure out how it's still around.

I have town water at 179 ppm TDS, but 0 after filter....cut back on feeding....my actinics are on 12 hrs, 10,000K's for 10 hrs.

Am I missing something ?

right around 6 months I'd say...it will get to the point I'm tired of looking at it and pick as much off by hand as I can...I've pulled the rock out and scrubbed it twice to have it come back as bad as before...My tank is pretty established my entire corner over flow and powerheads are covered with coraline algae and I try to keep my calcium levels up...I just don't get it
