Green Hair Algae

I need HELP!, i have done water changes, a lot, manual removal and added g.f.o. to my media basket. i use distilled water but my hair algae just keeps coming back. i am in the process of plumbing a fuge which i have chaeto for but am wondering if theres anything else i can do until i get enough money saved for a pump, overflow, and plumbing. thanks guys for all the help
