Hello, These forums have been very helpful to me as a beginner.
My Biocube has been running for about 2 months now, and we have 2 Clarkii, a Royal Gramma, 4 Hermit cras, and 2 Turbo Snails with live rock and sand. Water parameters: Ammonia 0, Nitrites, 0, Nitrates <5 (doing bi weekly water changes).
I bought a Green Hairy Mushroom in the middle of last week, and I saw it doing something weird today, which reminded me of some threads I had read when learning about the GHM. I have a local fish store who are very helpful and reputable and told me that this coral would be a good start. I also have a Fingered Leather Coral bought a couple of weeks ago, seems to be doing well, but do have a separate questions about it another time. Also have some star polyps bought at the same time as the GHM. The main colony of those are slanted up against the back wall.
The GHM had those red strings/filaments coming out, and I wonder if it's ok--just "relieving" itself or its a defense mechanism? Or is very unhappy?
Thanks for any help/advice!
