Green Leaf/Tree Algae ID

Hi Everyone

I have been reading on this forum for the past few weeks and thought I would now make a post.

I've had the live rock in my current tank for about 12 years now (came from a bigger tank I used to have) and I never had any algae like this grow in my old tank. I started my current tank, RSM 130D, about 2 years ago and let it go about a year ago and it became what I called an "algae farm". I had tons of different algae growing in it and I pulled it all out about 2-3 weeks ago.

These leafy/tree algae has started growing back and I like the way they look but I am not sure what they are and if they mean anything (too much of something in the tank).

Could someone let me know what they are? I did search but I am still not sure.

There is still a lot of work I need to do to get the tank back into shape and I discovered LOTS of bubble algae on some of my rocks that were hidden under the other algae.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jenna

Thank you for the response.

I am going to research it and decide if it is something I want growing in my tank.

Thanks again,
Jenna

If you were going to remove an algae, the bubble algae in the first pic would probably be a higher priority then Halidema.

Khemul: I had let my tank go last year after years of always having a well maintained tank and there were many surprises hiding under some of the more fuzzy algae that had accumulated in the tank...one of the not so nice surprises was the amount of bubble algae that I found on certain rocks. It is still a work in progress and the bubble algae is top on the list to be removed.

Thanks
Jenna
