green leather falling apart...but in a good way!

My green leather(tyree) has decided to frag itself. I will have several pieces availible for trade.

They will not be mounted. They will not have to heal in anyway as they will not have been cut.

Size,quantity and when they will be availible to be determined by the parent colony

Looks like one piece will be approx.3 inches by 1 inch, a second smaller piece about the size of a quarter.

As a quick aside, this leather which is approx. 7" x 7" has always opened beautifully but has never reproduced. I bought phyto and roti feast at nerac and have been using it nightly. I attribute the reproduction of this leather to the feedings.

Hey Eric ive had my green leather do that too. I sped up the process last week and for the first time fragged it. Hows the nudis coming along?

Hey Chris,

I have heard of devil's hand doing that but never the greens. Amazing how the process starts; a round hole just appears towards the outside edge of the animal and flesh begins to disintegrate in a line. At first I thought i had some sort of leather eating pest.
I have been watching the process for about a month.Amazing!(small things excite me what can I say)

I am cultivating aiptasia at this point,just have a few, I have to drop by Atlantis and pick some up from Joe. I haven't gotten to the berghia part yet. Going to take my time do it right so i don't have a crash from lack of food.

Sounds good Eric. I have a big brown toadstool leather that does the same thing. The first time i saw it i thought the same as you did. I posted some pics and was told it was normal Now the green has done it a few times. I just made 9 frags from mine and ofcoarse now everyone has them LOL My RBTA project is going well. Either tonight or tommorrow ill be propping them again and my stock will be up to between 25 and 30

Amazing right!?! Tyree leather was so in demand; now i fear that it has become the xenia of the hobby!

Well there could be worse things than a tank full of neon green leathers!

I can trade a neon green nepthelia, green for green if you want. Ask Ray about it, he has one, or a few different acros. Would rather do at next meeting if possible.

Yes, I have a bright red birdnest, the thicker one as well as a blue tip acro with a crazy form that is unique. Hows the rbta doing?

the bta's still haven't split yet. They are about 15" in diam. The red changed to an irridescent pink/green. If you look at my gallery you can see what it looks like now.
