Green Mandarin and scooter blenny

SATAN FISH

My 72 gallon tank had an abundant amount of amphipods (like thousands). They were covering the rocks and glass and sand, basically all over. I figured I could buy a greet mandarin and a scooter blenny to put in there and there would be plenty of food for them. Well, the problem is that within two days, I cannot find one single amphipod ANYWHERE! They straight cleaned house. Now I am concerned that the tank will not be able to produce them as fast as they need. Should I be concerned or will things most likely balance out?

without a sump/fuge or at the very least a big pile orf rubble rock in the DT for tehm to live in without getting eaten they will likley be wiped out. Right now if you had tons they wouldnt get wiped out that fast. you are probably not seeing them becuase they know there are predators lurking about now.

keep an eye on the fish, if they start to get really skinny bring them back to the LFS. Both of thsoe fish eat pods. it would have been a good idea to try one first and see how it goes rather than put both into the tank at the same time.

It is a 72 gallon bow front with the entire back of the tank being a built in over flow with rock rubble and a few bio balls. So they are most likely reproducing just fine in there. Although, I didn't even think about that until you mentioned the fuge LOL. I don't know why. Thank you for the advice.
