:worried2: I just noticed this last night but my mandarin's gill appears to be missing and is just a white raw looking spot. He is lathargic havent seen him poop but is less motivated, not hunting the rocks for food much. I took a pic will try to get a better one. Just want to know what this might be and what I should do :( water parems are in the norm and all other fish seem fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wanted to add that it is in a 29g bicube hqi. And now that im looking closer at him he looks really skinny :( there are lots of pods in tank i see them, and add them monthly.

I really can't tell by the pic what is going on with the fish.

A 29gal unless you have a large fuge hooked up to it will not support a mandarin. If you are only adding pods once a month I would say it is close to starving. A healthy mandarin will go thru a bottle of pods in a day or two.

How long has this tank been set up?

Tank has been up for 6 months. it has a fuge but only the one in the back of the hqi so not huge by any means. he was eating the frozen foods I feed as well but it seems that now he might not be. I could try putting him in my 40g to see if he does alil better in there but im kinda scared, if he has parasites I dont want both tanks affected. And at this point I don't have a QT ready :(

here's another pic. Hard to get a good pic through that thick glass :(
