green mantis

I just caught a vibrant green mantis that is about 3". Any idea what type it is?

Without pictures it's simply impossible to tell, they come in all kinds of wild colours.

Do you think you're gonna keep it?

it is already out and is in a 10 gal tank with the rock that it was hiding in on my friend's desk.

I will try, but the guy is always hiding, and that is why i had to give up the rock to get rid of him, and it was a big rock too (12 lbs) with polyps and seaweed
