Green Pocillopora

Yes and yes.

They're easy growers which is why many people are attracted to them. However, once they get settled in they definitely sprout pieces off. Mine spread a few pieces I just found yesterday. I haven't had my colony in about a month now because I sold it off.

I helped move my friends tank and his had it everywhere.

Poccillipora are like Coraline. You want it so bad but once you have it, you wish you never had it.

I like that uphinisom. It is true though. Once I got my calcium reactor running and stable it started popping up across the tank.

started with a 4'' colony a year ago its now a softball sized colony. fragged at least 15 times and it also went sexual in my tank. si now I have at least 20 more popping up.
never again in my tank..

It seems that once it reaches a certain size, there is the possibility of spawning. Under 3" colonies I have not had spawn. However mine is about 12" across and spawns all the time, which is becoming a problem. I found multiple growing right on the front glass yesterday. They are attractive coral, but once you get more advanced into sps, you may find it a problem to have in the system.

+1 It was first "canary" coral I added to my new system, never got around to taking it out and giving it away, regretting that now, they are the aiptasia of my tank. :headwally:

In my experience,

if it's a dark green and good looking but not a stunning poci then it will spread all over the tank. If it's a bright green or bright purple it will never spread. :) This is going on 2.5 years with 3 poci's, only the ugliest one spreading.

Going to remove the colonel.
