Green Slimer - Help

So, I purchased this a few weeks back... Have seen no growth, only color loss. Other frags in tank are doing great... Polyps are still green but body is a slight brown... I just now today moved it up higher in the tank about 20" from the LED's (G3 Pro @ 45%) There was little flow where the frag was previously, and it was probably 28" below LED's before.. I'm hoping I can get this back... Thoughts?

I'm guessing not enough light and not enough flow...

Yes and yes.

Yes, you guessed right, it needs light and flow. It's a staghorn that typically grows very close to the surface. Often seen in only a couple of feet of water.

And yes, it's pretty likely to recover if you've got good water parameters.

Why are you lights at only 45% ? Scared of growing corals ?

I run my radion g2s on @ 45-50% on my 18" deep tank it gives me deeper and more vibrant color even sps close to the sand bed and I find and the growth is still pretty rapid. How new is the set up?

I think you are giving it too much light right now . I Don't know where you got it but maybe it needs to be acclimated for 30 days at a lower intensity. Also if it growing that's a good sign but a lack of color could mean a few things. also looking at your picture it seems that your tank is new?

Tank is 2 months old...

The place I bought it from was using G2's at 100%... I was using 25% on my G3 before... and this had almost no flow... It now has 45% and is higher in the tank, with lots of flow. I'm going to see what happens.

Usually low light will brown a coral I think it's because it's a new system just give it time

Tank is fallow for the next 10 weeks anyways, so I get to buy new corals!

I would agree with with the newness of the system as being the reason microfauna/bacterial base not producing food as of yet.I would try feeding.
A.longei pretty tuff acro I went from T-5 to led 7 months ago and my slimer
never skipped a beat a few of the other acros did have some problems adjusting

After the move last night, I dosed Coral Frenzy... Going to wait a week and see what happens!
