Green spot puffer tank mates

I converted a green spot puffer to marine conditions, doing great.
Doesn't bother the hermits, feather duster, or corals. He does look at the hermits but hasn't killed any. ( also doesn't even look at my bigger snails) he's about 2 inches long.

Would a lettuce nudibranch work with him?
I got a new rock with a ton of hair algae and it spread to my sandbed.
My lawnmower blenny ate all the algae on the rock, and tries to eat the stuff on the sand but doesn't like the grains xD if a nudibranch won't work any other ideas?

The tank is a 55 gallon with leds and t5s

Any help is appreciated ^^

Need to see a picture of your tank and the algae to make sure it's GHA and not something else.

Okay here's the pics I could get. (( sorry it's a phone camera))
It's blowing in the current so it looks kind of flat, but they are stringy and fuzzy

I have a green spotted puffer in my reef and he is pretty much a model citizen. I can't keep shrimp though as he'll eat them. Occasionally he'll pick off a snail. He leaves the nems alone and the serpent star alone. Never had a nudibranch, but if you go for it I'd say put it in during the evening just after lights out when the puffer isn't as active. That's when I add clean up crew.

The puffer will eat your cuc one by one

I have 8 green puffers in my brackish tank that is basically lower salinity marine tank

My puffers have eaten all my bad egg cuc over the past few years (sport killing hermits, whelks, bristle worms, mini stars, emerald crabs) it's not a matter of if but when

They will also attack and eat smaller fish and they will nip large fish
My scats always have little chunks bitten off their tails and my Colombian catfish is missing his dorsal fin from the puffers

They get about 5-6in and will be little monsters they are really darn cute but not suitable for a reef

Go for a sharp nose or saddle puffer in a reef again no shrimp or clams with these guys either

Are they really that mean? Mine is also a model citizen, heck, my blenny and damsels pick on him if anything. He is like the shy fat kid of my tank, friends with the psudochromis xD

Puffers have to eat snails and hermits to keep their teeth short or the teeth will continue to grow into them and koll them.

Having 8 GSPs in one tank is likely the reason for the aggressive behavior.

I agree you're rolling the dice but my GSP was the centerpiece of the tank and when I went from brackish to marine I slowly started adding corals and he's been fine with everything. Softies, zoas, lps, sps, and nems. My lawnmower blenny and clown are above the GSP in the pecking order.

Once I had him in with live rock I haven't fed him any snails or crabs. He keeps his beak ground down by nipping at pods on the live rock.

I give my puffer shrimp with shells attached. And he bites at the rocks as well xD
Well I found a good deal for 4 lettuce nudibranchs ( plural?)
( And emerald crabs)
Ill tell you how it turns out with both of them and Mr. Puffer// choji// fattyball

( I also created little fake emerald crabs out of sculpey, since the empty shells made him hermit safe, maybe a fake crab will do the same xD )

I also have a LFS that will trade out frags for any crabs or nudibranchs I may not keep

The aggression with my puffers are always directed at other fish not each other and I've never had a puffer nip sessile inverts with the exception of clams

Puffer and corals do fine but add a shrimp or crab or snail and things quickly go south

He may be fine now but wait till he's the size of baseball and ripping everything that moves to ribbons

My puffer is lettuce nudibranch safe and so far emerald crab safe. He looked at them when I put them in, but other than that he's been acting normal. ^^

Also, I ordered rock flower anemones from reeftopia, I am not dissapointed, they were all beautiful and each one was super unique.
And everything else I ordered was spot on. Check them out, they don't have a huge variety, but what they do have is great
