I am putting my GSP in a Full Marine tank. would True Percs make good Tank mates? I am start them out in a 10 Gal.

After seeing what a group of green spotted puffers can do too a xlarge feeder fish I wouldnt risk it. Having a green spotted puffer will seriously limit what you can put in a tank, plus 10 gallons is only big enough for a pair of clowns and maybe a small goby.

I have put the 2 False Percs in with the GSP and they get along great with no isues at all. They even swim together.

True I did ask for advice. I also asked a friend of mine who has been in this hobby and got me started for numerous years his opinion and he said it would be fine. Just because one does not listen to the advice that every one gives does not mean that the advice is not appreciated. I do appreciate and THANK all of you for the advice, again THANK YOU

From what I have read one green spotted pufferfish needs a minimum of 30 gallons to themselves. They are also notorious fin nippers and can be aggressive towards much larger fish tham themselves. I think in a tank this small you are setting yourself up to fail if you are going to try this you need a much larger set up. Keeping fish in to small of a set up will make aggression much worse.

Lisa,
I plan on getting a bigger soon. Thanks for the advice. and so far there is no fin nipping. I hope it stays that way.

didnt know GSP's could go full saltwater, i have 2 GSP's now in a 75 gallon brackish water tank along with 4 african chiclids and have the SG at 1.008

I've had GPS's for years and always kept them with Pecs/Oc. They are just like little dogs with their personalities as are most puffers. They are rather slow and rarely try to nip at another fish...how ever the occasional gutloaded ghost shrimp or hermit they will go crazy! And I must say it's awesome to watch them hunt and "munch."

With a lot of fish if thrown together at or near maturity level problems can arise. However; IME when put in around the same time and at a junvi stage they grew well together. People jump to conclusions too fast on certain things just based on readings of the fishes personality in the wild. GPS's raised correctly, acclimated correctly to full SW can make a great puffer with nearly any fish. But with ANYTHING in this hobby nothing is for certain. I'm sure we've all gone down that path once or twice where something should have gone one way and went another.

Also I've noticed my GPS's were more aggressive in brackish than in full SW. Also they seemed more active in SW! The black mollies I acclimated with them were just as lame in SW as they were in brackish.

The newere Aquariums USA 2011 annual has a article about the GSP if you want to check it out.

Of course

Sorry about the delay But they are still getting along fine there was some nipping between the clowns I heard that is a normal process while they are pairing. But other than that they are great I have a feather duster in with them and a hermit crab. I just can't seem to keep a turbo snail alive in there bought 2 of them both died I think the fist one was DOA. I did buy a 40 Gallon Breeder tank for the whole crew lol. But after bringing it home I noticed a chip in the glass. I bought it from Petco 1$ a gallon sell yippee. It was the last 40 so they ordered me one. Will update when the 40 is up and running.
