Green SPS vs intense light

Is it just a coincidence, or are green SPS corals subject to color loss in very bright light?

I have a number of green SPS colonies, and I can't help but notice that those placed directly beneath my 400w 20k radium lamp (also high in tank) are beginning to loose their green coloration, and thus are showing more of an amber-brown color. Those located further (and lower) from the light source are looking great.

Could it be that "œgreen" shows best in areas receiving somewhat lesser PAR?

For what it's worth, my halides are on for 8 hours per day.

with my green moti and birdsnest it seems to like a lil more phosphate in the 0.4 range
and it really brings out the green in them
id on the light i do know moving corals around can some times take months before they acclimate to there new place in the tank

I found a green monti cap that fell into the rocks in my tank. When? Well I do not remember. And when I found it is was really dark green. It was in a vary shaded spot. It also encrusted the rock it was on and part of the plastic over flow. I have also noticed that a green prostata is darker green when placed lower in the aquarium. As well as a green milli. It is under a 8 bulb powermodule.

IME I keep all my green colored sps near the sand bed. They brown out with too much light as stated above. I'm running 3x150mh 20k bulbs.

Cheers mate

I moved a green brnching milli up higher under my 250w MH and it got a brighter green with neon green tips. Before it was mid way down but under the light and it was a darker green.
