Green star polyp not opening

Hey guys, I've had my green star polyps for about a month now. Tank is fairly new with only a few corals and critters. When I bought the GSP it was open and beautiful at the LFS, but since I got it home it has never opened more than about 1/3 of the way. And recently in the past day or so it has been closed up almost all the way. The mat isn't losing color or anything, so I'm not too worried... But what can I do to get these guys to open up?

I have them pretty high up with a good amount of turbulant flow under a 6x54w ATI T5 unit.

My parameters are good:
1.025 sg
Ca: 410
dKh: 9
PH: 8.4

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pic

Mine took about 2 weeks to a month to fully open. It looks fine to me, I would try to not move it around for a few weeks. If that doesn't work then I would try to change the flow on it.

I attached a pic of mine. Is the whole mat purple? mine has sections of purple and pink.

Wow, yours looks great. Hopefully time is the answer.

Yea mine is mostly purple with some lighter spots, but not much pink

I keep this stiff in my sump, it never opens up under the high flow of the sump drain. Not sure what you consider turbulent but try moving it to a lower flow area for a bit. Along with that, the gsp might not be used to your lighting compared to what they were under at the lfs. Consider starting any corals lower in the tank for a few days then move them up to brighter areas.

Chances are its lighting or flow is too much. Notice how most that are open are along the bottom of the rock in the more shaded area. I always start a new coral on the sand bed (light acclimation). They need a bit of time to adjust to new lighting. Starting corals in intense light can cause them to close up & lose color. I believe the mat will fall apart & crumble with GSP.
