Green Star Polyps and NO Lighting?

Quick question: I've read on several care guides that star polyps fare well under normal output lighting, although they tend to have faded colors. Has anybody tried this? Experiences?

I currently have two 24" F18T8 lights for my 29 gallon aquarium, if that helps.

GSP grows anywhere and everywhere under any conditions that I have ever seen!

When I started a FOWLR tank with normal output lighting. I actually got a piece of LR covered with GSP . It wasted away over a few months.
