Green star polyps dying off

Just as the title says, my green star polyp that I had for almost a year is dying off. I came back from a small trip and the GSP was loosing it's color. This stuff has been growing like crazy then all of a sudden this happened.

Parameters:

Salinity 1.024
NO3 .75ppm
Ph 8.2
Calcium 420
Phosphates 0
Kh 11

Livestock:
1 red honey damsel
1 cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp

Calcium was around 375 when I got home but raised it back up to 400+

The GSP hardly opened up yesterday and that's when I noticed some green algae on the base of it. I read online to use a tooth brush but would that algae make the GSP loose it's color? I also use ro/di water for top offs. All other corals look great.
