Green stuff!?

I've had my tank running for a couple of months and I keep getting this green stuff on the sand! Couple of questions, is it bad? Can the clean up crew get rid of it? Should I keep taking it out? Is it normal?

Its not good. That is probably too much for a CUC to handle. Do you use RO water?

You're having an algae outbreak, likely due to too many nutrients in your tank, and very common in new tanks that have not fully cycled. A great help for you will be reading through the "stickies," the threads at the top of this forum introducing and outlining good tank maintenance.

Also, nice xenia growth you've got going, but this also can be a sign that the nitrates are a bit high. Good luck!

It kind of looks like Cyanobacteria. (blue/green)
