Green Trees from Polyps Green Star

Hey guys, been a while since ive been on here, work has been crazy busy!
anyways my tank is doing great been running since past October. Coraline is everywhere, but i do i have a question for all sugggestions would be great! I have some green star polyps, and i noticed little stringy trees growing, they grow at a rapid rate, almost to the point where you cant go a day without picking them out. Any suggestions on what will prevent these from growing?

Digitate hydroids would be my first GUESS.

def not digitate hydroids, they are more like vines,

If they are green/brown it sounds like some kind of macro or it could be colonial hydroids which are more like a polyp. Pic would definitely help.
