I'm new to reefs and living in Millington, and interested in joining a local club. :) Right now I have a two month old Biocube 8, working on the corals and inverts right now, and doing well, thanks to the help of RC, but would love to meet others in the area and attend meetings. Any info would be appreciated by myself and husband.

welcome! we have meetings on the 3rd sat or sun of the month, the next one is in brownsville, next weekend, but most of them are in memphis, we would love to have you join us @ one of the meetings, if you need to know more about how to join let us know,

Thanks guys. The LFS gave me the website address and I lost it, so I was glad I found ya here. Brownsville's no biggie for me. I live in Millington, work in Somerville and cover all seven SW counties for my job. :) I don't see a problem with us being able to make the meeting next weekend. Are the details on the site as far as time/location? Of course I'm about to go look and bookmark the site. LOL!

Hey Trish!
We'd be glad to have you and the hubby come to a meeting anytime. Our club site is updated frequently and much of that info is posted on RC also. Come by and visit us sometime!

Is that a BABY sugar glider????

I guess it would be fair to post what pictures I have. Despite being a professional photographer, I'm no good with the aquarium pics. Sorry they're not the best. This reef is in a BC8 and only 2 months old.

Thanks!! And I get through Whiteville all the time for work. :) For everyone, I work for a hospice out of Somerville. I'm the Volunteer Coordinator and Bereavement coordinator. I probably get around to where MOST of you live. I cover Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale, Tipton, Haywood, Hardeman, and McNairy Counties. :) I'm always on the go go go. :)

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Brownsvile next Saturday. Lucky for me it's a straight shot up 14 from Millington, so a little closer than the Memphis folks.

Hubby and I also have some FW, and I've been raising Bettas, but I've thinking of cutting back on that and just keeping a small collection of them, because now I'm planning on a 20g SW next, and well, we know the amount of time breeding fish can take and the amount of time SW can take..some somethings gotta give.

I'm also owned my three retired racing greyhounds, with a fourth pre-adopted who will come over after she's been a mama twice (hopefully breedings will take). She's still young at 3, but a broken leg ended a stellar career early. I also own one racing pup who is about ready to head of to "school". Hopefully she'll be able to keep up and race at Southland so I can see her in person. But it's one of the higher end tracks time/competitive wise, so cross your fingers.

I also have a couple herps., and a wacky Sun Conure.

NO KIDS, just pets, the way I've always wanted it. *grin*

Hubby and I raise orchids. we have at least 700 specimens not counting babies still in community pots.

I'm also a photographer (www.tlolsonphotography.com) and am shooting my second wedding today. Sorry none of the first wedding shots are on the sight yet. I was unsure about trying weddings but the first was for friends who are actually photographers and they went gaga for the pics, so today I'm actually doing the wedding of one of my hospice patients who is marrying the widower of a previous hospice patient. It's the most romantic story, and I couldn't be happier, since she considers me the daughter she never had.

That's about it for me, other than my addictions to animals, and that includes corals now LOL!, reality TV (I know. I know - but my BG is in psychology so I have this odd curiosity about watching people). I also love to read, do some digital art, and draw.

There, now you should know more about me than you ever wanted (including a pic of me on my website).

It is but its not mine. I wish though!

Darn that's the cutest picture. I've wanted one forever, but I don't really have the time they require with their humans.

I'd like so say a BIG THANKS to two club members. Sanford met me at Wolfchase to deliver my BEAUTIFUL Zoas, Shrooms, and Green Star Polyps, all thriving and great size frags. And Teena showed off her tank, and sent me home with a nice size frogspawn and pulsing Xenia. :) The Xenia stalk is still a little droopy, but the heads ARE pulsing, and it's less droopy than yesterday. It's also a nice size for my tank, with two branches.

And after watching Teena's two True Clowns play, I had to go pick up phytoplankton, and came home with......

Two OCs!!! My first FISH! I'm a big girl now. LOL! They're still young, but appears we manged to get a male and female to begin with. Yes, I learned my lesson yesterday that they can change sex. *chuckle* I now have something faster than a snail or hermit to watch. And believe me Mr. and Mrs. Nemo (Ok, not creative) are having a BALL in their new home right now. I keep glancing over there. Being online and watching tv, and then glancing at the cube is like watching a tennis match.

It's really Dave's fault because no Sexy Shrimp came in, and if they had, I'd have just gotten my Sexy Shrimp. :p Nice to be met at the door with the greeting, "Nope, the shrimp didn't come in." LOL!
