griessingeri goby?

Has anyone kept this species of goby, and if so what do you think about it? Would you say they're fairly hardy? How are they as far as eating? I am setting up a 12 gallon and want a pair of gobies, which will be the only fish. I'm thinking about getting 2 of these or maybe 2 circus gobies (priolepis nocturna). I know they're small, but they seem like they're really cool so if anyone has experience with them please share it.

I have experience with both species you've listed and while they are really cool fish you'll have a fish tank with fish you almost never see.

So both species were good eaters and proved to be hardy for you? I just want to make sure that if I pay $50 for a inch long fish I will have it for a while. The fact that the fish hide a lot isn't a big problem for me, I think in a 12 gallon tank I'll see enough of them to be happy, and there will be corals and crustaceans in there as well.

Don' t understimate what Dave said, you will almost not see the griesingery in the tank. I have two - if I still have tow only God knows - in a small tansk only with gobies. I have them for about 18 months and until now I can not tell you what they eat ... get the picture?

I really like them and I have a lot of cryptic fish but you don't nejoy them much.

If you plan to buy Griessingeri, I'd reccomend put it only in a small nano where you can enjoy it.

in the Market in Bangkok there is a guy who have them in about a 3-4 Gallon nano with coll zoos and musrooms, awsome fish.

Very cool little fish, I dont think I've ever seen them before, I guess they hide well in fish stores and online vendors as well.

I've kept P.nocturna before. Neat little fish but very cryptic. I kept mine in a 29 gallon reef and would have to look for 10 - 15 minutes to find him if at all. Also in my experience they will consume small shrimp so small Lysmata spp. might be a bad idea to mix with them.

For a compromise maybe a Yashia goby? Seem to be more outgoing and will pair up with pistol shrimps in short order.

They've been available for a while. I've seen them at F&S and I see 'em on lists frequently. The size, price, and reported short life are detractors. Not to mention its cryptic nature.

my friend spent 120$ on the fish....put it in its tank and has only seen it once since! the LFS though they lost it...but if you like rare stuff....go for it! but just to say you have it!!

Wow I had heard that the nocturn gobies were very cryptic but I guess I didn't realize that the griessingeri were the same. I'm also getting conflicting information as to whether or not these pair with pistol shrimp, has anyone tried it?

They don't look like shrimp gobies so I never understood where that came from. Thanks for all the responses, I'll probably make the decision in a couple weeks.
