I have an MP10 ES which I have had a couple years now but never used it. About 6 months ago, I set up a small 20 gallon tank as a holding tank and placed the MP10 on one end. This week the dry side has started making a grinding noise and almost sounds as if an internal bearing is going bad. The noise is loud enough that you can't hear the TV in that room. If I speed the pump up, the noise increases. I have verified that it is not the wet side nor the positioning of the wet side. I emailed Eco Tech Customer Service and got this reply:
We do not service the dryside assemblies.
A replacement unit can be purchased at our parts store.

Not what I would have expected to hear from a top notch company. These little buggers are expensive and should last a lot longer than this one did. My luck, I would spend over $100 on a new dry side and the day after the warranty expires, the dry side will EXPIRE. I have several MP40's and never had a problem with any of them. Now, a little powerhead that I use for a small holding tank craps out after 6 months use and cost > $100 to fix? Not a happy camper with Eco Tech today...
