Grounding Probe

does anyone use these things "Grounding Probes" for there tanks to get rid of stray voltage form power heads, heaters etc...

I'm an electrical engineer. Deal with electricity and grounding all day long. Wouldn't be without it. In fact, I have one for the sump and one for the tank in case the pump goes out and isolates the two systems.

That coupled with a GFI circuit will HELP prevent shocks or worse.

My life is worth more than the $2-$14 for the probe...

I got one as well in my sump
very simple to hook up

I have had one since one of my power heads was shorting out under water and led to a "shockin" development.

put in the probe and replaced the bad powerhead and never looked back.
